The client asked me to design a natural garden using largely native plants to create rooms and a journey around a large area that is currently long grass bordered by hedges. The design features two large ponds, a copse of single species trees planted en masse, dry stone walling and a stone folly, and a spiral grass mound, with various opportunities throughout to display contemporary sculpture in a natural setting. Native plants are being used in groups and arrangements to bind the upper formal garden to the stunning countryside views beyond.
