Having completed an extensive garden design process including concept plans, detail planting plans, 3d modelling and plans for structures, and landscape plans for planning applications, we are nearing completion of an extensive garden restoration in rural Dorset started in 2022.
A key element of the design and landscaping project has been the dredging of a large pond from which 1200 tons of silt have been removed. We also designed and supplied a bespoke oak-frame baothouse which has its own kitchen, and designed and delivered a covered oak-framed entertaining area and double garage. As well as design and delivery we have been engaged in supplying a wide range of consultancy services including detailed planning applications for the garden structures involving ecological assessments, flood risk assessment, lighting pollution and landscape mitigation. Consent was granted for the entertaining area, garage and boathouse at first submission.
On the main terrace we have included a small formal pond next to the entertaining area, a cooling water feature next to relaxed seating and outdoor dining, and some intriguing roof-trained liquidambar trees to provide shade and frame the views.
Working closerly with planners, builders and architects, we provided a full project management service covering subcontractors for groundworks and oak-frame buildings, as well as the direct supply of landscaping and planting.
