I’m delighted to announce that Butterfly World has become the new butterfly partner for my show garden at Hampton Court Flower Show in July.
Butterfly World (www.butterflyworldproject.com), near St Albans, just off Junction 21a of the M25, is destined to become the largest butterfly centre in the world. In its latest development phase it is building a 100m diameter glass dome to house warm climate plants and butterflies. To give you an idea of scale the biome will be big enough to house Stonehenge.
I highly recommend a visit to Butterfly World. There is a butterfly house where you can come into direct contact with warm climate butterflies of stunning colour and variety, some with wingspans that small birds would be jealous of. In the nursery area there are also incredibly colourful pupae hanging from rods likes lines of mini oil paintings hanging out to dry. And in the summer there are large swathes of wildflower meadow and sunflowers alive with native butterflies.
Angela, David and Louise at Butterfly World will be working with me to create just the right environment within the show garden so that the butterflies put on a dazzling display that no-one will forget.
